Transparency in Extractive Industries: International Experience and Prospects for Ukraine

Ukraine is a country that implementing the global Standard - the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (the EITI). In 2015 Ukraine has published its first Report, which discloses the information on tax and other payments received by the state from natural resources extractive companies, the procedures for granting permits (licenses) for the use of natural resources and other information related to the use of natural resources. Regarding to the information disclosed in this Report it perceived a necessity for significant reforms on the transparency of extractive industryof Ukraine and for implementing the best international practices of revenues distributionfrom extractive sector companies.

At the same time, the international experience of implementing of the EITI illustrates many approaches for managing of revenues from extractive companies, which provides the basis for use of the best examples for implementation in Ukraine transparent, efficient and socially responsible extractive industry. The article examined the tools applicable to implementation of the EITI in Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Norway, mainly in terms of the distribution of revenues from the extractive companies in these countries.
